LHAS Visit to Carnegie Museum of Art

LHAS Vice President Membership Lisa Gaydos presented a wonderful visit to the Carnegie Museum of Art for new LHAS members to meet the LHAS Board on Thursday, October 27, 2011.

Although it was a gloomy cold day outside, LHAS Board Member and Museum Dossier Sue Varga arranged an intimate museum tour that included highlights of several collections. Her knowledge and enthusiasm were evident and reminded everyone of the amazing art and programs the Carnegie offers.

The group had a tasty lunch of salmon salad at the Museum dining area. Past-President Mary Novick provided a brief history of LHAS. Museum staff member Maryann Perkins spoke about several upcoming programs to include the museum’s new Culture Club which meets monthly on the third Thursday to discuss art and enjoy a happy hour from 5:30-9:00 pm.
