Hesselbein Global Academy for Student Leadership and Civic Engagement Students Visit LHAS.

On July 25, 2011, five students from the Hesselbein Global Academy for Student Leadership and Civic Engagement visited LHAS. Fifty top students from across the world were selected to participate in this three day Leadership Summit to learn how to be effective, ethical and innovative leaders. Part of the program included small groups of students going to work with local businesses for a four hour session on a strategic area.

This is the third year LHAS has participated and our area was developing a strategic plan for meaningful engagement with our membership. The students and their mentor, Dr. Tara Cortes, created an action plan, made some suggestions for the LHAS Membership Form, and designed a membership survey.

At the end of the session, the students presented their recommendations to members of the LHAS Board. If you are interested in seeing the students’ recommendations, please contact the LHAS office at 412-648-6106.
