Scooters provided by LHAS available for Oakland patients

Scooters

Imagine walking into a busy hospital and realizing that you need to be in a department hundreds — if not thousands — of feet away. You have limited mobility, yet you prefer not to maneuver a wheelchair through the crowded hallways. What can you do?

Ladies Hospital Aid Society (LHAS) generously has provided a solution to this problem. Beginning this month, five self‐driven, four‐wheel scooters are available at the UPMC Montefiore and Presbyterian information desks. This project emerged through the Patient‐ and Family‐Centered Care Committee (PFCC) at UPMC Presbyterian.
