LHAS has an active program providing volunteer opportunities for young people. Doing everything from working in the hospital gift shops to registering guests at the annual gala, the LHAS Volunteens are a valued addition to LHAS. LHAS coordinates with Volunteer and Community Services of UPMC Presbyterian Shadyside for about 20 Volunteens over the summer months. Many of these Volunteers are family members of UPMC employees and/or LHAS members.

Urban Impact offers academic assistance, athletics, performing arts, and various camps to the children and youth involved and has touched the lives of over 50,000 of them. It's motto is Changing Lives One Person, One Family, One Block at a Time. For more information on Urban Impact, please visit their website at www.urbanimpactpittsburgh.org
